{"id":1310,"date":"2011-07-20T00:48:58","date_gmt":"2011-07-20T05:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/waronsociety.noblogs.org\/?p=1310"},"modified":"2013-02-03T17:23:39","modified_gmt":"2013-02-03T23:23:39","slug":"philadelphia-pa-banner-drop-in-solidarity-with-the-pelican-bay-hunger-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/waronsociety.noblogs.org\/?p=1310","title":{"rendered":"Philadelphia, PA: Banner Drop in Solidarity with the Pelican Bay Hunger Strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>from <a href=\"http:\/\/news.infoshop.org\/article.php?story=20110718104116338\">infoshop news<\/a>:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/phillyimc.org\/files\/banner1.jpg.modified.jpeg\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" align=\"right\" \/>This morning, July 18, 2011, two banners were dropped in Philadelphia  in solidarity with the courageous actions of the Pelican Bay hunger  strikers and the 6600-plus prisoners throughout the state of California  who have joined the strike.<\/p>\n<p>The banners read \u201cPhilly Supports the Pelican Bay Prison Strike\u201d and \u201cFrom CA to PA: Stop Prison Abuse.\u201d<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/phillyimc.org\/files\/patocacropped.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" align=\"right\" \/><br \/>\nWe hope this action will join the large and growing voice calling on CA  Governor Jerry Brown and the CDCR to meet ALL the demands of the hunger  strikers.\u00a0 We also hope that the inspiring actions of the hunger  strikers in California will generate increased resistance to solitary  confinement and torture in Pennsylvania\u2019s prisons both inside and  outside of prison walls.<\/p>\n<p>Here in Pennsylvania like California, conditions in solitary confinement  units have been abysmal.
