Another attack against a bank branch occurred in Santiago, this time in the northern part of the city in the Renca neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The bank that was targeted for sabotage was again a Banco Estado, located at 4054 Domingo Santa Maria. The bomb exploded around 2:30 AM causing damages, primarily to the reinforced windows.<\/p>\n

The homemade device had been placed by unknown persons in front of the ATM area, hidden in a sports bag. According to the press the device was made of a fire extinguisher (3 or 5 kg) filled with black powder and activated directly by means of a fuse.<\/p>\n

Agents from GOPE and LABOCAR worked in the area the whole early morning in order to perform their regular operations after each attack.<\/p>\n

In the place were found vindicative leaflets, which alluded to the immediate release of the comrade Tortuga<\/strong> who is in the Health and Assistance Area of the prison-business Santiago One; also for the release of the comrades of the Security Case — Freddy Fuentevilla, Marcelo Villarroel and Juan Aliste<\/strong>, prisoners who are right now carrying out a Hunger Strike and are being punished in the Maximum Security Section of the High Security Prison. The leaflet is signed by “Wolves of Fire Bombing Cell<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n
