{"id":4942,"date":"2012-05-30T12:43:42","date_gmt":"2012-05-30T17:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/waronsociety.noblogs.org\/?p=4942"},"modified":"2013-02-03T18:54:35","modified_gmt":"2013-02-04T00:54:35","slug":"chicago-il-court-update-on-christopher-french","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/waronsociety.noblogs.org\/?p=4942","title":{"rendered":"Chicago, IL: Court update on Christopher French"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>from <a href=\"https:\/\/freedomforchris.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/30\/32\/\">freedomforchris<\/a>:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Christopher had a second hearing today; however, this was a pre-trial hearing where lawyers &amp; prosecutors make their case for\/against the defendant &amp; the judge decides whether there is enough evidence to proceed to a grand jury trial.<!--more--><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There was no bond hearing today.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Chris\u2019s defense requested another bond reduction hearing &#8211;<em><strong> Chris goes back to court Thursday, May 31st, 2012 at 2:30 PM (two days from now) at Branch 42 \u2013 2452 West Belmont \u2013 Chicago, Illinois 60618<\/strong><\/em>. Lawyers said that if a bond reduction is granted, it will likely be somewhere between $50,000 \u2013 $75,000 (which means we would need five to seven thousand to get him out \u2013 much more doable than 25k). They decided to wait to do the pre-trial hearing \u2013 neither prosecutor\u2019s nor lawyer\u2019s gave their cases, the judge decided to just reschedule it after the bond reduction hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Although we do not seek to express support for the justice system, the judge from Christopher\u2019s hearing today was relatively lenient.
