Matthew DePalma is in the streets

We are pleased to have learned, although quite belatedly, that comrade Matthew Depalma was released from prison on September 16, 2011. Welcome back, comrade!

For those who do not know, Matthew had spent much of the past 3 years in confinement while on trial and after conviction for plotting to firebomb the electrical infrastructure that supplies energy to the convention center where the Republican National Convention was taking place in Saint Paul, MN in 2008. His plan was discovered by a federal informant named Andrew “Panda” Darst.

Some of Matthew’s prison writings can be found here.

We take this opportunity to remind that North America has a very large and diffuse anarchist space and this site relies on mutual communication with the individuals and collectivities scattered across many thousands of miles in order to be able to transmit information in a timely and accurate way, especially regarding the situations of comrades held captive or facing attacks by the repressive forces of the State. Let us ensure that no imprisoned comrade is ever alone or ever forgotten!
